Waymo is recalling nearly 4,000 driverless taxis due to a software glitch that could cause them to drive directly into closed freeway construction zones without slowing down, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall follows two instances of the autonomous visualization system failing to recognize freeway closures.
