My article titled 'A Typology of Comparators and Comparisons in EU Equality Law' published in the Common Market Law Review received the honourable mention award of this year's Ius Commune Prize from the Ius Commune Research School.
This article is the product of much constructive feedback over the last years from my supervisors and EU equality law colleagues who attended conferences and workshops where I presented earlier versions of the article. I hereby thank them for helping me to sharpen my arguments.
Building on Iyiola Solanke’s EUI Black History Month Lecture that highlights the need to decolonise EU law, I argue in this WP that uncovering the allegiance between EU law, coloniality & Whiteness must be at the heart of any social justice enterprise to decolonise EU law: hdl.handle.net/1814/93725

Last month, @eucourtofjustice.bsky.social issued its judgment on the Danish 'Ghetto' Law (C-417/23). Given the paucity of preliminary reference rulings about the Race Equality Directive, this judgment warrants some unpacking. Join us to discuss the 'Ghetto Housing' judgment tomorrow: bit.ly/4qcbvnX
Professor Solanke’s (@ivy180.bsky.social) inspiring & thought-provoking EUI Black History Month lecture, titled “Reimagining EU law & legal institutions” can be read here: hdl.handle.net/1814/93727 Thank you @gatybiyo.bsky.social for organising this event & for creating a forum for such discussions

At @eui-law.bsky.social, @gatybiyo.bsky.social explores how Western notions of private property often clash with Indigenous understandings of land, often reproducing colonial patterns of control.🌳 🔗 https://loom.ly/SepE78M
