A nice surprise in Galway today. Nature’s Acre is featured in the Natural History display at Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, sharing a table with David Attenborough, Robert Macfarlane, Thomas Pakenham and others whose work I’ve admired for years. Thank you for the support.
The boys at the cliffs of Moher. (Really!)
The cliffs are behind them, honestly. Here’s is last year’s cliffs - I would imagine they look about the same this year if you could see them!
Father’s Day is coming. If your dad has ever: • disappeared into a greenhouse for “five minutes” • pointed at a bird nobody else could see • built something out of pallets • said “that’s not a weed” Then he’s probably one of us. 🌻 Nature’s Acre gardeningwell.ie/natures-acre
I walked into @kennysbookshop.bsky.social and asked if they had Nature’s Acre by Ciarán De Buitléar. They DID!

Nature doesn’t need much. Just a chance.
As gardeners we spend a lot of time improving soil, adding compost and creating growing conditions. The Burren is a reminder that nature is often more inventive than we are. Here, wildflowers grow from cracks in solid limestone, finding opportunities where most of us would see only stone.
