There’s something here. Too many politicians do the mollifying “valid concerns” thing almost automatically, because they don’t want to appear contrary or unlikeable. Maybe it’s in some media training manual.

For what it's worth I don't think she thinks we should change it, or even have that conversation. Went on to highlight that it had been in place for 100 years, etc. I think there is just a chronic reflex to acknowledge that all questions put to you should be treated as superficially legitimate.
