When Pokemon Go players scan PokeStops, theyve been unknowingly building a detailed visual model of the world which is being sold to a military contractor to build a no-GPS positioning for the new generation of unmanned killing machines
1/3 of the game industry has lost their job in the last two years. Ubisoft closed two more studios today. Everyone is out of work. To that end I'm starting a new bundle to benefit a layoffs hardship fund. Game devs: please consider submitting your PAID games to the bundle, which will launch in July.
From like politicians and people with massive followings (whether they're real or not, bots are still capable of simulating real harassment and anguish it causes) Like it's been a few years now since Husk bought it, I'm really surprised by how long people have stayed addicted to it and kept it alive
All I can say esp as a game person and weird fashion wearer is that my irritating interactions online have decreased dramatically, still stressful bc the state of the world and people insisting on reposting the worst online garbage here as news, but definitely improved and more quiet in a good way
Bsky is annoying in a lot of ways but I'm getting legitimately concerned about people still using Twitter and what they consider to be normal online socialization. Like it was p bad in the past re: gam*rg*te, etc but the stuff people repost here from Twitter is lots of extreme targetted harassment

The fund will be run and distributed by @videogameworkers.bsky.social, local 9433 of Communication Workers of America, paying their own operating costs. Looking especially for games that have not been in bundles before, or which are new to itch. Please share widely and let's help some folks.
