Whiskey? No, I can't - it'll curdle my Baileys. ๐ง

I caved and went for the Western Reef Heron... (๐ซฃ). Turned into a beautiful day out in Wales, with a sneaky trip to Anglesey to see Red Squiggs.
Now settled into a stunning hotel for the night. Bliss.

Cracking day! Kicked off with a Hawfinch in the garden, plus Red-Rumped Swallow and Hooded Crow at The Warren.
Then on an evening drive round Sunk Island, spotted what I thought was a flash of Turtle Dove. Paul reversed the car and, luckily, it dropped back into the field briefly - nice year tick.
Swiiiiiiiiiift!!! A frustratingly brief glimpse over Vicar's Lane around 7pm, then thankfully managed to relocate it about 45 mins later feeding around the church in the fading light. #YearTick
Incredible funnel cloud over Easington this evening!!! Just one of the many perks of volunteering at the Beacon Ponds Little Tern colony.

About 5 minutes before I found this I said "I'd love to find an Echinoid today". And then - boom! #Manifested

Pair of Tawny Owls roosting at GFB again today, looking thoroughly cheesed off at this windy weather.
An absolute privilege to have these birds within view of my desk, but it does distract from work somewhat...
Wonder where they will choose to nest?? ๐ฆ
