I would just like to share that I was just now reading some stuff for a book I'm writing about war, and decided to add a line to the end of my preface that sums up my feelings about writing the book. That it was important and necessary, but also horrible. Especially given
the time in which it was written (the last few years). As a token of that sentiment I chose to quote that wonderful line from the opening of Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five: "I've finished my war book now. The next one I write is going to be fun." About five minutes after writing that,

while listening to my promo copy of the new Nothingness (which is, to no one's surprise, incredible) I hear a voice (Vonnegut's?) saying these lines: "I've finished my war book now. The next one I write is going to be fun."
I thought I was imagining things, but I wasn't. It's the intro to track 7, "Incredible Violence." I don't know what I feel anymore, but I feel more of it.
I know the mid-year thing is happening, though not for me, just yet (June needs to be over for that), but I just want to say what an incredible year it has been thus far for death metal. Just unreal album after unreal album.
