Strongest argument for Democrats packing the Supreme Court is that we have never, in the whole history of the republic, had a Court that votes on almost all major decisions on a straight party line the way the Roberts Court does now. /1

Major Supreme Court decisions of the past were built by justices appointed across party lines- but if the Court is now just a partisan engine, a partisan packing of the Court is appropriate.
