Two things about the race protest last night as I drove thru Greenock. 1) The number of cars on pavements suggested organisation. 2) Ominous groups of young men all in black … do they know that both Mussolini’s & Mosley’s fascists were ‘the blackshirts’? britishonlinearchives.com/collections/...
Anent the racial unrest I saw last night in Greenock, the young men dressed in black. To criminalise creates its own problems. But social psychology sheds light on prejudice, scapegoating & violence. Might something like the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme be an idea?
I passed by this around 9.30 pm coming back from being on the water off Gourock. A lot of cars pulled up on pavements and groups of youths dressed menacingly, all in black. 6 police vans on the motorway speeding from Glasgow. Facism has no place in Scotland. This is hate crime.
First mackerel tonight in my canoe as Meinn Schiff 2 went past off Cloch Lighthouse, 45 mins from Glasgow. Last year, the Emerald Princess was speeding and nearly capsized us. But MS2 went by so gently that I hardly noticed the wave. Every respect to her captain. Hope their dinner was tasty as mine!
