Our lab is expanding! We are looking for a PhD candidate interested in RNA localization & targeting as part of the newly funded TRR440 smART: specific mRNA targeting. An exciting opportunity to work on RNA biology & innovative approaches in a collaborative environment. For details shorturl.at/RjyhE
Using cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, simulations, and functional assays, the team shows how BDM91531 blocks the pump’s conformational cycling, offering a blueprint for designing next-generation efflux pump inhibitors.
In a new collaborative study, SCALE researchers and partners from France and Italy uncover how BDM91531, a high-affinity inhibitor, targets the AcrAB–TolC efflux pump in bacteria such as E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Congratulations, Erin Schuman! The director at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research receives the #KavliPrize 2026 in the field of #neuroscience 🎉

How can a splicing factor bind to thousands of exons but regulate only a few of them? In our new preprint, we show that SRSF6 resolves this paradox through two distinct binding modes. @lab-nmr.bsky.social & @julianvonehr.bsky.social. Check it out:

🔬we have been playing with 'an old tool from (DNA) chemistry' 🧪 and used that for DNA-based confocal/super-res microscopy ... these are the last recordings for the revision and were recorded last night ... 🙏 thanks to R1 for this suggestion:
