A new global map of phytoplankton nutrient stress reveals that ocean productivity is tightly linked to the supply of nutrients from the deep ocean. As surface waters warm and stratify, nutrient stress is increasing, providing a physiological link to climate change. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

It's not completely detached from reality; there were papers Google Schooler only showed me when I typed the full title into the search bar.
I know that's not the reality (I do look for some rather niche topics no one ever got around to from time to time; some of them even work-related), but from time to time, I can't help but feel the issue might be with the search engine. #AcademicSky #Reaserch

And here is the original study that the article references, which goes into clinical details about how bad things actually are, notably in Africa, which really doesn't get enough coverage and attention. https://academic.oup.com/jpr/advance-article/doi/10.1093/jopres/xjag046/8703754
I don't like dipping into politics, but can we all agree that this is just not great? https://www.npr.org/2026/06/09/nx-s1-5850355/data-highest-conflicts-iran-israel-ukraine-russia-world-war-ii โ€‹
A long overdue #SciFiScience, this time with flexible wireless sensors for health monitoring. The material side we apparently mostly figured out, and also how to power them, but signal fidelity is still an issue. ๐Ÿงช Link: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40820-026-02233-5

Did you know that if you search for "meteorites" on google a meteorite shoots across the screen? (Also, you have to scroll about halfway down the page until you get to actual search results, which aren't the AI summary or YouTube videos)

I'm growing unashamed to just use TinkerCAD now when I need something quick and simple, which isn't more than a set of geometric shapes... which is a surprisingly amount of stuff.

While they have some advantages (to oversight and cost to employers), "...open-plan designs are perceived to compromise privacy, shorten attention spans, lower productivity and increase stress levels." ๐Ÿงช Link: https://www.emerald.com/jcre/article/26/3/262/1234198โ€‹
