🚨 NEW: 27 Members of Parliament have signed a motion to reject the EHRC Code of Practice edm.parliament.uk/early-day-mo... Ask yours to join them: equalrecognition.eaction.org.uk/rejectthecode
As in the case of Section 28, the CoP’s effects will be highly uneven and more about fear and silencing than anything else. Carving out spaces in our own communities where its effects can’t be felt is an essential aspect of resisting it.

"Nearly three-quarters of gay and lesbian people are “out” to family and friends, but fewer than a third of bisexual people are, leaving them isolated and unsupported. Kyle was a brilliant, sensitive young man, yet what he wanted more than anything was to fit in as one of the guys"
"UK universities have shed more than 30,000 jobs in the past three years..." Why is every sector worthy of governmental concern except ours? Even pretend concern? www.timeshighereducation.com/depth/i-dont...

The publication comes at a strange time for me, as (like many academics) I face down pending unemployment as my current contract ends in July. In the past month alone I've had six job rejections. But I'm proud of reaching this milestone, and excited for my work to be read!
Bisexuality and Beyond is the first historical study of bisexuality in Britain. I conducted a series of oral history interviews with people attracted to multiple genders, and use these to explore the creation of the gay/straight binary from the perspective of those who fell beyond its limits.
My furry editor and I are excited to announce the publication of my book, Bisexuality and Beyond: A History of Multiple-Gender-Attraction in Modern Britain!
I'll probably say more about it in the future - in the meantime, you can order the book here: global.oup.com/academic/pro... (or ask your local library to order it) (I have no control over the price)
"Despite all his outrageous, attention-seeking behavior, my son guarded his one secret closely."
