Met Office has changed Wednesday and Thursday's heat in central South (inc London) to a red alert, stating:
High risk of failure of heat-sensitive systems and equipment, with the loss of power and other essential services, such as water, electricity, gas or mobile phone services
Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, wind, snow, ice, fog, thunderstorm, lightning and extreme heat.
