A small sampling of some Dirt City public art I've snapped over the years.

A little Dirt City in the dark for you tonight, in honour of the sun not going down until after 10 these days.

Some black and white Edmonton scenics for #MonochromeMonday. Dirt City can be a very pretty place.

Edmonton's City Hall. Shot on 35mm film.

The Art Gallery of Alberta here in Edmonton is a wonderful place to visit and a wonderful place to photograph. These 2 frames were taken on Kodak Ektar100 35mm film.

Rainy day reflections in Dirt City.

I was sad to have missed Opening Night last night but you can be sure I'll be spending some time at the old ballpark this summer. That view and an ice cold beer is simply one of the best combos available in Dirt City. (shot on Fujifilm 200 35mm film)

Stormy Edmonton skies seem appropriate to share tonight.

Anyone else remember that time large alien creatures descended on Edmonton? I captured them...on 35mm film. (I'll show myself out)

One of my favourite parts of living in a city like Edmonton are the ephemeral things. The pop eateries, the limited engagement theatre, and especially impermanent art. It's so cool to see a space completely transformed like Beaver Hills House Park was for Jason Carter's Wapos. Shot on 35mm film.

Four versions of the Edmonton city skyline from roughly the same spot.

One of my favourite things about my city is the back alley art, official or not. The 1st photo is a wonderful downtown back alley art project by the Edmonton Arts Council and on the right is the remains of a mural on a garage in my neighbourhood. Love them equally.

Congratulations, you've made it to the weekend once again. Here's a spectacular Dirt City Sunset for you, as a treat.

Sharing another Edmonton landmark today. This is the Coronation Pool. I think it was built for the Commonwealth Games in 1978, but don't fact check me on that. It's now dwarfed by a massive rec centre that's been built next to it so I'm glad I got this photo.

I've seen in the news this week that Edmonton's city planners have recommended a plan to decommission & demo 2 of Dirt City's oldest bridges. I totally get the need to ensure safe infrastructure that won't bankrupt us all, but I will admit I'm gonna miss that iron behemoth when it finally goes.

One of the things I try to do is to photograph familiar things from unfamiliar perspectives if I have the opportunity. This is the famous Hotel MacDonald and river valley from an angle you may not have seen them before.

I've lived in Edmonton long enough now that I could probably do a "Disappearing City" series of photos. This beautiful 1960s era motel sign used to stand on 63rd Ave, notably not attached to any motel. It has long since disappeared.

A front porch TV in digital and B&W film. I love my 'hood. ❤️📺 Gonna share some of my favourite photos of my city every evening for the next little while.

Gonna share some of my favourite photos of my city every evening for the next little while. This is the Observatory at the UofA, that I got to photograph because I was producing a MOOC with the wonderful Dr. Sharon Morsink, and did a photoshoot with her team of astrophysicists. I'm very lucky.

Gonna share some of my favourite photos of my city every evening for the next little while. Here's a trio of photos of the subway station I get off at to go to work when I'm in the office.
