This commonly held "theory" is v wrong. Waymo robots don't "learn" in the human sense. They are >99% ML/AI trained in simulations not from real life. Unlike Waymo robots, human drivers learn from each other in real time, as demonstrated in their superior responses to flooding and road construction.

Theoretically, all Waymo taxis learn from the errors of all other Waymo taxis. Human drivers each make their own mistakes. As someone starting to plan for retirement (w/the eventual loss of safe driving ability), I want Waymo to work! I love driving, but realize it's not safe later in life.
