Like I just don’t think you can argue “well other things cause more environmental damage!” cause a) I think we should either get rid of or if they are structurally important try to minimize the impact of that too, b) you are talking about the lack of accountability machine
I don’t want to call it the plagiarism machine because I think this whole thing has turned a lot of people into cheerleaders for IP laws which are flawed at best, but really what it all boils down to is powerful people wanting to be like “you can’t blame me, the robot (that I programmed) did it”

We’ve kind of structured our entire society around motor vehicles and while I think we can mitigate that (searching for fuel alternatives, more robust public transport), that one is a necessary evil. Generative AI however I do not think even remotely closes the necessity to damage gap
