Wow! I am not a natural bridge builder but I loved hearing these two experts reflecting on doing this work in such polarised times. They wrestled with compassion and complicity and drew lessons from slavery, aprathied, nazi Germany, and pro-life. Can't explain how good it is - just listen!
And in terms of electoral coalitions, cost rises perform especially well among working-class and right-leaning voters where support for net zero has been going down.
Cost rises work better because they connect climate and self interest - effectively reversing the 'net zero makes you poorer' - with 'not net zero makes you poorer'. Over to comms on that one!
