Played a whole bunch of game demos this weekend, most of them cooking-related, coincidentally: Arcane Eats, Burger Bois, Froggy Brews, Prickles (the one not-food related one!) and I FINALLY beat the demo for Shroom & Gloom after a week of trying!

In Burger Bois, Patty & Fry run a food truck. You manage inventory and cook up burgers based on loose requests/constraints. Think WaxHeads only swap the 90s UK record shop for the Aussie food scene. Fun art, and a challenge to balance various food traits.

Another serve-weird-customers-weird-food game, Arcane Eats is a deckbuilder where your cards put odd foods onto 3 grills and manage how long they take to cook to feed hungry (and sometimes hangry) patrons, all in a well-seasoned fantasy setting.

Prickles is about a cactus-girl (everyone is a plant here) named Prickles, trying to get her life together in a new apartment. Lovely character design & animation, and a fun drawing program as part of the game (Prickles is an artist.) I enjoyed the writing.

Totally loved Shroom & Gloom. It's a roguelike deckbuilder where you maintain TWO decks, one for exploration and one for combat. You fight mushroom creatures that you can potentially eat upon defeating. And it's got a unique look that I totally love!
