Are you/ do you know a sixth former who would like some lab work experience but can't access an in-person placement? We have a great alternative this August that's on-line so no travel necessary! All the details here: www.cimr.cam.ac.uk/reaching-res...
A PTPN23-dependent #ESCRT pathway is essential for constitutive secretion in mammalian cells, say Danièle Stalder, Conceição Pereira, David C. Gershlick @dgershlick.bsky.social and colleagues @thecimr.bsky.social: rupress.org/jcb/article/... #Trafficking #Biochemistry #Golgi

Huge congratulations to Dr Jenni Palmer!
Well done to CIMR PhD student Lewis & the rest of the team!
We've had a great day with a group of biomedical science students from @angliaruskin.bsky.social They found out about different career paths into science via PhDs and technical routes from some of our students and facilities staff and left inspired to work in research!

Stalder, Pereira, @dgershlick.bsky.social et al. @thecimr.bsky.social uncover new regulators of #Golgi-to-plasma membrane transport, showing that a PTPN23-dependent #ESCRT pathway is essential for secretion of membrane & soluble cargoes, including hormones & antibodies. rupress.org/jcb/article/...

The architecture of carriers formed by AP3:ARF1 for lysosomal membrane protein transport: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/.... Work from @jggkaufman.bsky.social, in collaboration with @dgershlick.bsky.social and David Owen. @mpibiochem.bsky.social @thecimr.bsky.social
Wow! It was not simple, but we managed to package and ship 3 confocal microscopes from @thecimr.bsky.social to the Sena Institute of Technology in Penyi, Ghana. A massive thanks to all the amazing people at CIMR who helped out, and can’t wait to see these scopes running and producing data at SIT!

Great to see Ruth Ní Mhuircheartaigh running away with the Irish mythology round on the eve of St Patrick's Day! Congratulations to Ruth, Louis, Lewis and Jon on a spectacular quarter-final win in last night's University Challenge. The team now have to play one more quarter-final match to proceed.
Ecstatic to share that I have formally finished my PhD! Very grateful to my supervisor Prof David Rubinsztein, examiners Profs Felix Randow and Ian Ganley, and the friends and labmates (esp. @thecimr.bsky.social and @corpuscambridge.bsky.social) who have made it a very enjoyable experience!
