Vivian is a graduate student in Johanna Elfenbein’s Lab studying how Salmonella Typhimurium regulates sulfite stress. When she’s not in lab, she enjoys doing trivia with her friends, hosting dinner parties, and working on graphic design projects.

Anne studies the role of secondary messenger molecules in regulating the osmotic stress response in gut bacteria in order to better understand how the gut microbiome reacts to environmental shifts. Their hobbies include reading, rock climbing, and going to local concerts.

Josephine studies how bacteria communicate with one another using secondary metabolites. Outside the lab, she enjoys cycling, running, hiking, and skiing outdoors. Josephine also loves spending time with friends while dancing, playing in orchestra, or discussing sociology.
