I'm probably 90% audiobook these days (outside of comics) and one thing I've noticed is a hard time remembering character names, especially when they're atypical (hi scifi and fantasy) because my brain hasn't registered how they're spelled and a lot of my recall is tied to that.

Regarding the actual issue in the article, most people probably don't need to read and listen at the same time to focus, they just need to actually dedicate the mental space to the activity and not try to multitask (although I guess this method sort of forces that)
Rolled credits on Mina the Hollower and must apologize to my Blaststrike Maul for thinking I made the wrong weapon choice at the start of the game. I always went back to it for bosses that were giving me a hard time (although the Mega Buster type weapon is also a lot of fun)
