Its cast of vibrant characters radiate the author’s own rich humanity through theirs. It is one of those books that make our world a little better and will sustain and encourage many. What a wait for the next!
Completely agree. Strange and beautiful novel that balances antique resonance with contemporary sensibility and deep humanity.

With so many big names it is surprising The Thursday Murder Club is the appallingly bad movie it is. Gross ham acting, wooden dialogue, and a ludicrous plot. I’ve seen more convincing episodes of Midsomer Murders. (And that is a very low bar!)
@patricknessbooks.bsky.social one of out finest writers triumphs again. His new instalment in the stunning Chaos Walking series, is another masterpiece. It is a gripping, moving, thoughtful, hugely imaginative and ultimately devastating book.
