A crowd of people rode their bikes to honor Riley O’Neil, a champion of improving road safety who was doored and then fatally struck by a truck driver while biking over the weekend.
Riley O’Neil — who helped redesign roads to make them safer for pedestrians and cyclists in CDOT’s Complete Streets program — was killed on a part of Halsted lacking proper bike infrastructure, friends, advocates and a witness say.
