So happy and proud to share our lab’s first #plantscience research article, revealing that angiosperms have the capacity to encode memory of flooding stress. A heroic effort by @aidamaric.bsky.social in collaboration with @djgibbs.bsky.social and others. A brief 🧡 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Hibernation is a biological superpower that can extend lifespan. What if we could harness its benefits? #FreemanHrabowski Scholar SiniΕ‘a Hrvatin has ID'd the neural trigger that induces key features of the state, which could transform how we treat disease, injury, & aging: bit.ly/41Uzw8F.

Today, @VolcaniInstitute and @HUJIAgri hosted the @WolfPrize ceremony. A special moment was Sigal’s moving tribute to Joanne Chory, the 2024 Wolf Prize laureate. Though she passed away before receiving the prize, her legacy lives on. πŸŒ±πŸ†

🌱🧬How do plant cells sense low water? A protein called SAM8. Normally hydrated and dispersed. Under water deficit, hydration weakens and SAM8 condenses. These condensates trap RNA export factors, reprogramming translation. A direct water potential sensor. @nature.com www.nature.com/articles/s41...

We're hiring! 🌱 The RO2T Respiration Group is looking for a PhD student and a postdoc to work on root oxygen biology! Please spread the word! #plantscijobs
How do plants respond to wounding? Well it it's not too dissimilar to how they respond to heat. We found that plants utilize the HSFA1 transcription factors to rapidly induce wound-induced regeneration genes after injury. @keikosugimoto.bsky.social @deveylderlab.bsky.social @wigge.bsky.social

@ilichenmoss2.bsky.social George Greiff in the BBC News headlines on Sunday morning. A fantastic discovery, and hopefully a way to moderate invasive (INNS) Campylopus introflexus (Heath Star Moss). Well deserved recognition for some very interesting bryological work. πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
