Quebec, for example, doesn’t even have a rent bank - the province takes all that money from Canada housing and shoves it in a big pothole in their budget.
At this point I’m willing even to consider it a loan for the last $500 - I’m going to lose my truck reservation in a few days if I don’t complete it. 🤦♂️
Moving rentals etc in Montreal are….aggressive…since July 1 is “moving day” in Quebec (as a middle finger to Canada Day).

Just $500 away from covering my truck rental. Today I got my phone transferred to a discount carrier that works in NB and got an order in to have Internet at the new place. Once I’ve raised another $500- that’s everything ready to go aside from finishing packing.

🤦♂️ This article is spot on. People like me who hate asking for help etc having to because there’s no other way. The second tier support systems are gone or blasted out. Food banks empty. It’s bad.
