i think, if I tried to boil it down to a sentence, it'd be: "All politicians are hated by their opponents - but Starmer went out of his way to be hated by his supporters too."
All those commentators pretending not to understand why Kier Starmer is widely hated could do worse than read this thread for the electoral politics, then look at all the groups he's harmed and the genocide he's assisted.

Yes. That is why he is so disliked.
Mildly economically leftish when absolutely forced into it. Authoritarian on social and domestic issues. A government that has continued to crush protest and criminalise dissent. And one that has made life worse for significant minorities.
It wasn’t identified as left-leaning, because it wasn’t.
