The orchestral sound design is on another level. The characters feel real. You genuinely care about Gordon's dumb jokes and Lonnies' ghost stories around the campfire. The writing is warm and human in a way you don't expect from a war game. And the art direction? Absolutely nails the tone.
The balance between action and contemplation is something I haven't see done this well in a long time. This is a side of WWI you almost never hear about and even less see in a video games. No glorified violence, just friendship, folklore and the weight of survival.
Some scenes completely think outside the box in ways I didn't expect at all. This one got to me personnaly. I won't spoil anything but if you grew up in the 90s-2000s, it's going to hit different. It's the kind of game that stay with you after the credits rolls.
I love to play games in early development (and this one defenitely is in it) and see the potential. Go give some feedbacks to the devs so they can make it better! They also have a discord for that. Have fun trying the demo! lurk.ly/9ls8hH
🪖 INDIE GAME OF THE DAY ⚠️
The Caribou Trail from @twofalls.bsky.social is a WWI narrative game made in Quebec. You play as Fisher, a young newfoundlander sent to Gallipoli with his friends. The goal isn't to kill. It's to survive. That alone makes it stand out. #indiegame #indiedev #gaming
