Yesterday, as part of Gun Violence Awareness Month, we joined leaders on Capitol Hill to highlight common-sense solutions to prevent domestic violence and gun violence.
Thank you @mcbath.house.gov, and the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social for your leadership and dedication on this issue!
The homicide rate is falling, but domestic killings are not.
We know what makes domestic violence more lethal: easy access to firearms.
Domestic violence is not a private matter. It is a deadly public crisis and we must act like it. Women and children in this country deserve better.
The next House and Senate majorities need leaders ready on day one to save lives.
That’s why Brady PAC is proud to endorse 23 proven gun violence prevention champions who will hold this administration accountable, stand up to the gun lobby, and fight for the safer future our families deserve.
An Iowa man shot & killed 6 relatives in a domestic dispute.
I can’t stop thinking about the only surviving family member, a 22-year old who lost his mom, sister, and 4 brothers.
When an abuser has access to a firearm, the risk of a deadly outcome increases dramatically.
Our leaders must act.
This administration wants warning labels for LGBTQ+ people on tv.
Not for the #1 killer of America’s children and teens. Not for the glorification of gun violence in media.
While politicians manufacture outrage, they’re ignoring the very real and present danger that is taking our kids from us.
“Safe firearm storage is one of the most effective ways to prevent tragedies such as unintentional shootings, youth access to firearms and suicide."
Every day, guns sold at Turner’s stores turn up at crime scenes. They have inflicted immeasurable harm on LA County residents, and we should wield every tool we have to protect people.
Thank you @bradyunited.org for joining me in calling for an investigation.

Thanks to @msnownews.bsky.social for covering our new lawsuit against the Trump administration.
“Americans deserve to know about the sources of firearms that are driving crime in our communities and what ATF is doing, or not doing, about it.” - Brady President Kris Brown @krisbrown.bradyunited.org
We #wearorange for all of those impacted by gun violence. More than 100 people a day die by firearms in the U.S., hundreds more are shot, and countless others are forever changed.
Join Brady and be part of the solution. #EndGunViolence.
As Brady President @krisbrown.bradyunited.org told @axios.com, "This is absolutely the gun industry's wish list."
They know it raises the risk of mass shootings.
They know that violent crime is likely to go up.
They know it's going to hinder law enforcement.
And they do it anyway.
The homicide rate is falling, but domestic killings are not. For those who track this kind of violence, the deaths are both predictable and preventable.
