Nearly 50,000 people in Edinburgh were issued with summary warrants for unpaid council tax in 2025, figures reveal.
£989m is owed to local authorities across Scotland.

According to a Freedom of Information (FOI) response from the City of Edinburgh Council, 47,644 people were issued with the court order in 2025.
