@dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social While travelling to Lodmoor this morning I spotted two Red Kite one over the A31 near the shell garage and the other over the Dorchester bypass.

Would anyone know if this is some type of fossil? Or just natural formation of the stone.
Over 50m either side of the cycle path/footpath near the bypass at Monk's Wall have been strimmed, destroying approx 20 Lizard orchid spikes.
I have reported this to DDC and will see what happens.
Lizard orchids are Protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.

A pale phase adult Arctic Skua was the highlight of a 2.5 hour seawatch at Durlston CP with Rob Johnson.
Also 69 Manx Shearwaters,
11 Kittiwakes, 3 Fulmar and 20+ Gannets, 4 Sandwich & 1 Common Tern.
