A new blog at wessexbirding.blogspot.com about my day at Lodmoor. Recently reading books by C Darwin and A R Wallace. I am inspired by their form of writing especially Wallace so have tried to install form in this latest blog. Hope you like it.
@dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social While travelling to Lodmoor this morning I spotted two Red Kite one over the A31 near the shell garage and the other over the Dorchester bypass.

@charmouthhcc.bsky.social Would you possibly know what this is, please? Is it some type of fossil or natural formation within the stone?

Would anyone know if this is some type of fossil? Or just natural formation of the stone.
Over 50m either side of the cycle path/footpath near the bypass at Monk's Wall have been strimmed, destroying approx 20 Lizard orchid spikes. I have reported this to DDC and will see what happens. Lizard orchids are Protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.
