So this is out in the world! And I get to shout out so many people whose work I admire too (not that they need it) 😀
I wrote a whole book about why women are quitting church and SBC went and summarized a lot of it in one vote, picking a new president who opposes women's service to the church as leaders, denies the well-evidenced abuse crisis, and is supported by creeps with more anxiety about anti-racism...
When you are browsing podcast descriptions for the car and one kind of sticks out...
"While secular journalists, scholars, and even the Pope are wrestling with big questions about Artificial Intelligence, the war in the Middle East, and what it means to be truly human, the Southern Baptists have decided the most urgent problem in 2026 is banning women from preaching."
Upcoming dates: 22nd June, 6th July, 20th July, 3rd August.
FTN online writing rooms will continue over the summer. Next one is 8th June 2-4pm BST. Link is on your FTN newsletter. If you haven't signed up already, go to feministtheologynetwork.org and the link is on the top right of the page.
The book is great, so I am very excited for this. I know I gave the details early doors - don't worry, we'll keep reminding you! Join the email list to receive the Zoom link: feministtheologynetwork.org. Any access needs, please get in touch and we will do our best.
Timothy Goode, interviewed in this article, is the author of Breaking, Not Broken, which discusses the theological need for accessibility in (all areas of) historic buildings like York Minster. Find out more about the book here: scmpress.hymnsam.co.uk/books/978033... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
As always, the link will be sent out via email. If you haven't already, sign up to our email mailing list at feministtheologynetwork.org. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
