Increasing visibility is a crucial first step toward ensuring protection and justice. The Banyamulenge are rarely featured in international news coverage within the wider instability in the DRC.
My appreciation to the Banyamulenge community in Bradford for inviting me last week to join their discussions on truth, justice, reconciliation, and addressing historical and current challenges impacting their community in South Kivu, the Eastern DRC, and worldwide.

The Alliance for the Prevention of Atrocity Crimes and member organisations expresses grave concern over the continued fragile situation in Tigray, 🇪🇹 , more than two years after the signing of the CoHA (also known as the Pretoria Agreement) on November 2, 2022.
Today, we honor the victims of the 1994 genocide in #Rwanda by calling upon states to uphold their #R2P populations at risk of atrocities today.
As we also mark #R2P20 this year, we remind states that R2P provides a framework for prevention and response to these atrocities.
