I am excited to reveal that The Society of Unknowable Objects has been selected as one of the twelve long-listed titles for the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize!
The shortlist for the Prize will be revealed on 28th May - but it’s an honour just to be included at this stage!
I have started reading this and it’s proper creepy 👇
I am very pleased to announce that I am supporting the wonderful Goldsboro Writing Academy to provide funded places on their courses for writers from low-income and under-represented backgrounds in 2026 and in 2027.
For more details contact Phil Vinter or visit the @goldsborowritingacademy website!
Almost exactly two years to the day since The Book of Doors was published and over 100k people have rated it on Goodreads. Can’t quite believe it!
Phil Viner! Not Vinter as I said in original post! (Sorry Phil!)
Amazing news - I’ve been lucky enough to read this book and can totally see why it’s been snapped up for adaptation.
The Society of Unknowable Objects has been selected as a Kindle Monthly Deal title for April! You can get eight months of my toil for not much more than the price of a Freddo! And why would you want a Freddo anyway? They’re all palm oil now. So buy my book instead. 99p for the whole month people!
The paperback of Society of Unknowable Objects is out in the UK today! (US paperback is later in the year and not released yet.)
I will be thinking of the contents of this book for the rest of my life. Thank you @garethjohnbrown.bsky.social

A brilliant night at Toppings to listen to @bingewriting.bsky.social talking about his latest book ABYSS with @garethjohnbrown.bsky.social - lots of @edinburghsff.com folks in attendance and some great chats in the pub after. Perfect.
