If not, I’ve failed the assignment. I want the reader to know who’s talking without tags. MC stopped giving a damn decades ago so his language is very sloppy. Another is used to give speeches before battle and speaks three languages.Others swear, are formal, try to be suave and fail miserably, etc.

Do you use dialog differently for certain characters?
Do some speak in shorter, choppier sentences? Use different grammar? Communicate non-verbally? Use multiple languages?
