In Senate Estimates we asked hard questions of the Royal Commission into Antisemitism including how their approach is dividing communities - these questions and the responses are on my YouTube here www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xiF...

When sensitive data from court cases, war crimes prosecutions and national security proceedings has potentially been accessed by unvetted overseas workers, that goes well beyond a routine data breach.

The expanded criteria for warrantless questioning is so broad it could sweep up activists and community members engaged in entirely legitimate activities with no requirement for even suspicion of criminality. This looks increasingly like a tool for silencing people and targeting community organising

This is an important win with Labor forced to restore the sunset clause. It’s clear though that they intend to work with the Libs to expand warrant less questioning and we will keep fighting them!

The Office of the Special Investigator signed a new contract with VIQ Solutions on April 2 despite the company already being in administration and removed from AusTender. This is the privatisation of sensitive government work and the checks and balances simply weren't there.
Donald Trump lies and then he lies again but don't worry he and Labor are telling the truth about AUKUS 👀
The Government privatisation of transcripts to VIQ Solutions keeps unravelling. We now know 13 federal agencies used this company, with contracts totalling more than $20 million, and that thousands of sensitive court files were accessed offshore in India by unvetted workers.
I went to an event hosted by @davidshoebridge.bsky.social last night about the urgent need to end AUKUS. This isn't about submarines- it's about further entrenching us in our military alliance with the American war machine. If a similar event pops up in your area you should absolutely go along.
When we questioned ASIO in Senate estimates about why they wanted these expanded powers, what conduct it was intended to cover, their answers were confused and unclear. If anything, they increased my concern about the what they’re doing.

The privatisation of transcription services created this vulnerability and the Attorney-General needs step up on a whole-of-government audit rather than leaving agencies to quietly review themselves.
