Because yesterday was the 300th anniversary of James Hutton, the father of modern #geology, here are pictures of Siccar Point I took a few years ago.

See you next year #egu!
I am so glad I decide to attend this conference again last year after a long break. I really enjoy the variety of topics, the amazing venue, the wealth of opportunities to exchange with colleagues from all over the world. Already looking forward to 2027! :-)
You had a rough week? You didn't recover from the excitement of the #egu26? The weather is a little darker than you hoped or you're just feeling a bit tired? Have a cat! :-)
Better yet, have two cats and thank me later! :-)
Happy #caturday!
From the top of the cliff, you can see the red sandstones on the left and the greywacke on the right. That single line where they meet represents a staggering time gap of 65 million years!
This is a monumental place for earth science. It's where Hutton identified his famous unconformity and fundamentally changed how we understand the age of the Earth.
