I for one am happy for Kasane Teto's near ascension to household name. I've been rooting for her since 2008 when I was a middle schooler. There was this niche open for a meteoric voicebank to fill the gap, since like 2019 when Crypton cared more for Miku as a mascot than a voicebank,
And that's what you need for a fanbase to explode really.... young people who have the time and energy to explore with this new tool. Teto's SV bank arrived at precisely the right time.
Now I just wish her team marketed her as well as Miku so there'd be more figurines and concerts....
Others almost filled the spot like Kafu or Flower. But they lack something Teto had from day 1.
Lore and inside jokes. Teto's identity as a voicebank was lore and community first and foremost. This allowed the next gen of middle schoolers to latch onto her instead of other contenders
