We toured Green Knowe when my daughter was teething (and crying constantly); a lovely and patient Diana Boston put Teddy Bears’ Picnic on the gramophone and my daughter started dancing and forgot her teeth!
I am reading this new Alan Moore novel, but still thinking about Lucy Boston’s Green Knowe home, and there’s perhaps a story where the great small artist houses of Britain - including Green Knowe, the punk Dial House, Alan Garner’s Medicine House, Prospect Cottage - team up to fight a great evil.
