This is doubly true for genocide. Genocide, in the Western mind, is something that occurs in concentration camps or is carried out by death squads.

I harp about this a lot but I genuinely don't believe Westerners generally, but Canadians especially, have any concept of what war is.
You see it with air campaigns. People who's national flag is on a plane dropping a bomb don't identify that as their country at war.
