Here's the funny thing; recently, I was a panelist on a panel discussion where I was arguing for decolonisation, as the key to the liberation of all BIPOC from capitalist and white supremacist systems, and some Black liberals on the panel were talking about "what we need is DEI and representation."

Saw a reel about how the Tonys were specifically founded to create infighting and stratification among artists who would otherwise have unionized, and…I can’t help thinking that, whatever the origins of arts awards in other fields, they have the same effect.
