Many trans Kansans whose licenses were cancelled by a recent state law now face a kind of poll tax: To vote, they’ll have to pay $16 for a replacement license with a gender marker that doesn’t match their identity.
In October, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the manufacturers of Tylenol.
But the case wouldn't be heard in Austin or any of the state’s large cities.
It would take place in Panola County, a community of 23,000 residents.
