Part of getting shit done in the world is learning who to be mad at and how to channel that anger into the appropriate channels
cannibalizing our transit systems and cutting services is not an effective way forward towards tax reform.
@seattledot.bsky.social Why do we always have to wait until something horrific happens before doing the obvious right thing?
It’s been obvious for years that southbound Beach Dr SW from Constellation Park to Lincoln Park / Fauntleroy Ferry and Wildwood / Barton to Delridge needs protected bike lanes
absolutely heartbreaking and preventable. we need big action taken towards Vision Zero across the whole city.

There are upwards of 185,000 apartments in Seattle, so if 13,000 are turning over it represents a healthy vacancy rate of 7%, not that we should stop building apartments.
Her death near the Fauntleroy ferry dock has left Vashon mourning, as friends call for safer roads and police continue to investigate the crash.
Maridee Bonadea was killed because we value convenient parking more than the safety of people on bikes.
When was the last time someone died because parking was not available next to their home?
We need to stop debating convenience vs safety. Safety comes first, on every single street.
We've lost five neighbors who were simply walking or riding to traffic violence in West Seattle in the last few years:
Robb Mason 🚲 — 2022
Nicholas Wolf 🚶 — 2022
Unknown 🚶 — 2022 (Highland Park Way, March 25)
Steve Hulsman 🚲 — 2023
Maridee Bonadea 🚲 — 2026
Maridee seems like an amazing person.
Here she is featured in a Seattle Times story participating in a trans rights rally at city hall just a few days ago.
Maridee should still be with us.

Completely gutting, infuriating news. Maridee was a longtime contributor to Seattle Gay News and helped build the city we have today -- documenting our history, standing up to violence, fighting AIDS. I'm so upset, and so angry.
