Norwich Printing Museum
One of the hand-moulds at the #norwichprintingmuseum. This is a French-style mould, made of steel with a brass "hopper mouth", probably made around 1800 for hand-casting type in the brevier size (roughly 8-point).
Our traditional desk-calendar for 2026 was the last thing we printed at the Museum before we moved out of Blickling Hall in October. Copies have now been creased and will be available through our website.
A new monograph, Stan Nelson on the Typefounder's Hand Mould, will be published by the Museum and Legacy Press in the summer. Large octavo. 296 pp. Cloth + dust-jacket. $75.00 or £55.00 (£45 before 1 July), post-free in the UK.

A wood-engraving of around 1873, showing a family printing with the Jabez Francis "parlour press". Only three original examples of this press are known to survive (two of them are at the Norwich Printing Museum).
TEXT & TEXTILE! is a new exhibition of work by artist Connie Flynn. During Connie's recent artist residency at the #norwichprintingmuseum, she explored the traditional process of letterpress, creating elements of her exhibited artworks. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/norfol...
