Today we’ve published a new report, ‘Turning evidence into impact’, to reflect on some of the achievements from the past decade we’re most proud of, including the recent passing into law of the Tobacco & Vapes Bill. Read the report in full: cruk.ink/3R5Wtn9.
A historic moment! Today the Tobacco and Vapes Act has become law and it’s a huge step towards a #SmokefreeUK.
This world-leading legislation has now made it illegal in the UK to sell tobacco products to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009.
"Anything we can do to save lives is important".
We’ve been speaking to the public about the new Tobacco & Vapes Act, and many share a sense of optimism. The legislation means that around 13m children alive today in the UK will never legally be sold cigarettes in this country.
