It showed up in the last update when SP also started applying lighting on the detached components, before that, the bug was unnoticeable. To prevent a bad user experience, SP will now also disable this fix if SkyGfx + ImVehFt are present, as SkyGfx is sadly unlikely to fix it.
Silent
Go play it tomorrow! It's an extremely charming and chill game, and the best time, especially in co-op.
Seeing a new Gran Turismo HD build out in the wild is surreal
Internal SilentPatch rewrites are paying off - when the open source update went live, some people reported this bug if SkyGfx was used. Now I know what's up: this is a SkyGfx bug that surfaces if SP does not fix the colors of the detached parts - happens if ImVehFt is installed.
CLUTCH looks kind of interesting:
* Some people don't like stories in racers, but there's not many of them right now, so a change is good.
* Some footage as if if HDR was misconfigured - but if the game is 6mo away, it's w/e (general visuals seem great).
* On-foot sections??
* The UI looks simultaneously nice and annoying - it has okay visuals, but a sound sample on *every single UI change* (race position, objectives) will get old super quick I bet.
* Hopefully TWINGO and Multipla are not the only "boring" cars they are going to include.
Steam Deck is where it gets interesting: the game originally released on Switch and Switch 2 in February, so it should be no surprise that it works perfectly on a Deck, but it does it better than I expected - when docked, I was able to get 60FPS in-race... in 4K! Impressive.
4PGP releases on Steam and PS5 later today and I gave it a try - it's a really simple but fun racer that plays and feels like a port from a coin-op arcade; the kind of a game you jump in to play a single championship, and jump out. Works well as an oldschool-style arcade game.
over the hill is phenomenal
Use a 32-bit InstallShield 5 to install the game, then drop dgVooodoo2 into it and Glide/Banshee modes work just fine! This seems to be a rehash of the first game (or Sprint Cars? I can't tell) with added Holdens, and tracks from Australia and NZ. No DRM, just a naive CD check!
