Advocates say Amos’ death is the latest in a troubling series of deaths of people in custody in recent years.
So far this year, three people have died while in the custody of the Department of Corrections, according to the department.
Ross Amos, 34, died last month while he was incarcerated at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston, his parents said.
