Sen. DURBIN: You embraced Trump’s position detaining any immigrant without a bond hearing. Why are you so extreme on detention?
Nominee: I felt the Administration was within its limits.
Sen. BLUMENTHAL: Was the Capitol attacked on January 6th?

Blumenthal: You’ve seen video and know about injuries to officers. You can’t say it was attacked?

Sen. DURBIN: Judges appointed by Republicans and Democrats have found that the Trump Administration broke the law. And violating a court order isn’t acceptable. Yet, that’s exactly what’s happening.
Sen. WELCH: What right do you have to tell an academic institution who to hire?
Trump nominee: Judges don’t surrender their First Amendment rights.
Welch: But as a judge?
Nominee: It was appropriate.
Welch: Judges shouldn’t get involved in incredible political controversy.
