Also, a big shoutout to @ispne.bsky.social and @igor-dgps.bsky.social for supporting this project and to @zukunftskolleg.bsky.social who provided funding for a #NODES project meeting in 2026! π»
From preregistration in April 2025 to preprint in June 2026, this study was a big group effort and I couldn't be prouder of what the team has accomplished. Huge shoutout to the whole #NODES Delphi Steering Group! π

These findings now guide the next phase of #NODES: developing concrete data format specifications and piloting them in real datasets. The goal: open-source templates and tools that make standardized data sharing easy for everyone. π₯
As a first step, we needed to know: what does the community actually want?π
For this, we ran a Delphi study with an international panel of PNE researchers, asking them to rate statements on how PNE data should be structured, labeled, and shared.

50 researchers participated in the final round and consensus (>70% agreement) was reached for 80/84 statements (95%). The community agrees: a data standard is needed, and we largely agree on what it should look like. πͺ
In #psychoneuroendocrinology (PNE), data collection is resource-intensive and clinically valuable. Yet openly sharing data remains rare. If shared, data are fragmented and non-standardized, making reuse across studies very difficult.
Big news! π
The preprint for our #NODES Delphi study is out on PsyArXiv osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/5bt6s_v1
What's this all about? π§΅
Key points of consensus: a modular, flexible system covering human, animal & in vitro research; standardized metadata; and low-burden implementation with user-friendly tools rather than coding requirements. β

This is the problem #NODES, the Neuroendocrinology Open Data Exchange Standard, was launched to solve. Inspired by BIDS in neuroimaging, NODES is a community-driven project developing a field-specific open data standard for PNE. π www.nodes-pne.eu
