If you're absolutely loaded, you can live in the thin band along the california pacific where it's 72 every day, go swimming with a wetsuit, and take a jet to Miami or Park City for beach or skiing. For the rest of us, we adapt to the weather.

People that complain about hot summers in Wisconsin have no idea how good they have it. You either have to go so far north that season is 3 weeks long or to a marine climate like coastal Oregon where you can't do quintessential summer activities.
