The Dáil has voted 78 to 68 to defeat a bid from opposition parties to prevent the use of counselling notes in sexual assault prosecutions. Justice minister Jim O’Callaghan said his legal advice was that counsellors’ notes should be available, and that they can be of value in securing a prosecution.

I will buy a subscription to the first mainstream Irish publication that simply states the truth in the headline of a news report that "racist pogroms" took place in Belfast last night and doesn't weasel word it by calling it a "protest" and continues do so
